Sharing Mili Wifey Lifey: Birthday Weekend

Ever since I made an Instagram account, I feel like we can share a tiny bit more of our lives with all of you. If you are not following me yet, please do (our Gram' Handle is "militarywifeandpuglife") but, BUT be forewarned - I am a tiny bit obsessed with "stories."

The overshare is extremely obnoxious.

I know, I KNOW.
#willstopsoon #maybe #cantstopwontstop

But truly, I digress.

This weekend was #MaddiethePug and my birthday weekend! I thought I would share a few of our celebration pictures.

When I woke up Friday morning, Military Husband brought me cards:

The two on the left are mine. The two on the right are for #MaddiethePug.

And yes, I am a 12 year old trapped in a grown woman's body, so I received a Captain America card and keychain. Not to mention, Military Husband gave me these:

A Marvel and a Supernatural t-shirt and Black Widow knee socks. I am obsessed with these socks and all things Black Widow, obviously.

Later that afternoon, I was surprised by a knock at my door and it was:

My best friend and blogging buddy Julie @ JewelsWandering surprised me with these beautiful flowers. I was so excited. Thank you again for remembering me Julie! You are AWESOME.

That night, Military Husband gave #MaddiethePug and I:

As you all know, I am like the Cookie Monster when it comes to cookies and I love Nestle Toll House Cafe' Cookie Cakes. So much better than RatBoy The Cookie Douche and the Great American Cookie Company Ratchetness. We enjoyed some cake and then went to see my personal favorite of life:

A scary movie!

We saw:

And it did not disappoint. Military Husband even enjoyed it despite thinking it was going to suck. He should know that I know my good horror movies. Ok, OK, except for that time I INSISTED we see Ouija and the best part of the movie was me dumping popcorn everywhere and a man in front of us farting loudly repeatedly.

We all make mistakes. #butitsoundedgood #ouijaboardsarejustdumb

On Saturday, we had a birthday celebration with my family. I made sushi for my mom and I to enjoy while the men ate steaks.

Friends, I am perfecting the sushi roll. Next stop, Japan. #TokyoTakeover

Shrimp Tempura Roll

My family presented #MaddiethePug and I with a cake:

#MaddiethePug also got 4,589,789 bags of treats and a new stuffie. BabyBelle Pug even got a stuffie. My family gave me canvases, paints and an art easel for my new found love of painting everything geeky.

And my dad gave me this beautiful painting he did of Joan of Arc:

I plan to teach history again in the near future.
Cannot wait to put this in my office!

Yes, my father painted this artwork. He is extremely talented and I will be happy to share more of his work on the blog if you are all interested!

I loved everything, but honestly, my favorite part of the night that gave me life was this card from my mom:

Inside it reads: "Anyone who thinks you are old is a big dummy that is dumb." I laughed because the little girl on the card looks JUST like I did when I was a little girl.

Speaking of being a tiny tot, my mom found two candles I had on my birthday cake celebrating year 1 of Mili Wifey Lifey.

I LOVED Oscar The Grouch. #myfave

After the party, the pugs were super tired. BabyBelle could not wait to get home and sleep.

Isn't she adorable?

That night, Military Husband and I watched Star Wars The Force Awakens and I do not care what any of the critics or Star Wars geeks say, I loved this movie (especially Rey, she is just awesome). BabyBelle Pug loved BB-8, too.

On Sunday, we all relaxed and took the pugs on a fun walk.

It was a low-key, but extremely fun birthday with my family. We did not do the usual "Spoil Mili Wifey Rotten Birthday Blowout" because we are moving soon. We are so excited for this move and looking forward to the adventures our family will have in a new state.

Disclaimer: There is some confusion because we did move in May. We moved to a home in a neighboring city due to our lease ending. Now, we are moving to a new state for Military Husband's work. I hope that makes sense!

I will post more in the near future, but any guesses as to where we are moving?

Sadly, no.
I would love to kick Loki's butt tho.
#thankyouforyourcooperation

Anyhoo, I want to thank each and every single one of you for all the birthday wishes and love. You also made my day just a little more special and I love you!

Celebrating another year alive, older and somewhat wiser, I am,

    1. Thank you!
Oh gosh girl, there were plenty of scathing attacks. LA Times, Reddit threads...lots of fans thought it was pure plagiarism of Star Wars ANH. Not gonna lie, I agree it wasn't anything original like the first three episodes, but I found it to be very charming and the actors were all just a breath of fresh air. The cast made that movie and gave it a resurgence among kids who might not be as familiar with the original films. I think Rogue One will be a better story, but I loved TFA! So so likeable. Rey gives me life. She's exactly the kind of female role in movies young girls need!

LOVE that painting! We almost named Maggie after Joan of Arc -- only I kept laughing thinking of "Joan of B'arc" and that sort of messed it up. :)
