Well, well, well. I have finally returned and my life changes are somewhat, kinda, sort of complete. It took a lot of alcohol and a ton of patience, but everything in Mili Wifey land is almost back to normal.
Did I tell you I needed beaucoup booze to get me through these trying times?
I shall mention it again.
Once more, with feeling.
You may have noticed that I have not been regularly commenting on your blog posts and have been missing in Blog Action. And believe you me, I feel like a real piece of shit.
I know, I KNOW.
But, BUT, I feel awful for being in absentia this long. Just know that I have read all your blog posts and you are still just as freaking fabulous as ever. I love you all just the way you are. We were meant to be besties.
Anyhoo, tonight was absolutely incredible because:
It was the premiere of Captain America: Civil War.
I have been waiting for this night for ages. I wore my Captain America dress and sparkly red shoes. I received so many compliments on my dress from my fellow Marvel fandom.
Dress: Hot Topic/Marvel By Her Universe
Shoes: Some random seller on Ebay
Military Husband and I waited in a line outside the theater with all the other nerds.
Once we were inside the theater, we got a really cool collectible ticket.
Yup, I am so framing this. #geekalert
I was Ticket #225 of 500 tickets sold for tonight's showing.
All of the theater seats had signs on them for #TeamCap and #TeamIronman.
I have so much I would love to discuss following the movie, but I refuse to be like the other
assholes meanies and spoil it for any fans. I promise you, however, the movie does not disappoint. Chris Evans was wonderful, and the writers humanizing of the characters helps you get all the Marvel #feels for the Avengers (something sorely lacking in Age of Ultron). Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are truly two of the most talented writers in Hollywood.
There was also plenty of ass kicking and phenomenal fight scenes, quite a bit of Spiderman (who is really good, by the way) and the introduction of Black Panther. Friends, Chadwick Boseman is a scene stealer as Black Panther. I am really looking forward to his solo film.
Of course, like a good Marvel fan, I stayed for the mid-credit and post-credit bonus scenes.
Word of warning: We were at the movie theater for 5 HOURS! Marvel, you are killing us with these long films, mid-credit and post-credit scenes. No spoilers, but I found the mid-credit scene interesting, as I did the ending of Civil War. It was nothing like I expected.
Anyhoo, thank you for not giving up on little ole me. I am so happy to be back blogging and look forward to posting more ratchet fuckery, Lifetime nonsense and general buffoonery.
I am with YOU till the end of the line, and I am,
