How To Cook The Easiest Dinner Ever

When your children return from school, do you hear the non-stop lull of:

"Mom, I'm hungry."
"We are starving!"

When your husband walks through the door, are you often greeted with:

"What's for dinner?"

or

When you hear these phrases, do you feel like this:

I mean, really.
Don't they know you were in the middle of napping/reading/binge watching?
#howrude

Right. Well, I am here to help. Today, I am teaching you how to cook the EASIEST DINNER EVER. It is also delicious and will have your family all:

Seriously, they will totally think you are a culinary expert. And it will be our little secret how simple this is to make.

How To Cook The Easiest Dinner Ever

Disclaimer: This meal serves 2-3 people. You can adjust the measurements in accordance with your family. By no means is this an original recipe, I tweaked several versions I found on Pinterest.

You will need the following grocery items:

1 stick of butter
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
12 oz fresh green beans
28 oz bag of small potatoes

2 packs of Ranch dry salad dressing and seasoning mix

You will also need a large glass baking dish or a roasting pan. I always use a roasting pan.

I picked up this pan for FREE by saving grocery stamps.

First, you will cut your potatoes into small pieces and place them on one side of the roasting pan.

Pro Tip #1: You may use any small potatoes you prefer, but I use red potatoes. I find these taste the best with the dish. Just make sure you choose small potatoes (NOT baking potatoes).

Next, cut the chicken into smaller pieces and place in them in the middle of the roasting pan.

Pro Tip #2: Cut up one breast per each person as a general rule of thumb.

Place the green beans on the opposite side of the roasting pan.

Pro Tip #3: You may substitute canned green beans (drained) in lieu of fresh green beans.

Sprinkle the two packets of dry Ranch dressing and seasoning mix evenly over the chicken, green beans and potatoes.

Pour 1/2 stick of melted butter evenly over the chicken, green beans and potatoes. Cut up the remaining 1/2 stick of butter and place the butter evenly over the dish.

Cover the pan with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Pro Tip #4: The potatoes will take the longest to cook/soften for eating. At the 1 hour mark, check the potatoes to see if they are soft/edible. Open the foil over the potatoes ONLY and cook the remaining 30 minutes.

When it is cooked, it looks like this:

Well, it did look like a lot more. However, a hungry bear (aka Military Husband) dug into my dish before I could take a picture. Just keeping it real over here!

Here is what it looks like plated up for yumminess:

The sauce is the key. It makes the chicken soft and moist and everything taste delicious.

  18. WOW. Looks yummy! I'm a fan of the slow cooker...toss items in, 8 hours later dinner is ready. But that's usually the entree. then I have to make the sides. This looks like an all-in-one deal.
