Maypole Dance Break: My Pagan Childhood

As a child, I attended an Episcopal elementary school.  Although the church in our school was quite beautiful, as were many of the ceremonies, some of the stuff was just plain disturbing.

Take the high priests, or head honchos as I called them, that attended services from time to time.  These men always arrived at church looking like this:

This totally scared the hell out of me because as a child I watched a Spanish subtitled movie (you know, without the parental permission) entitled The Inquisition.  In the movie, the Inquisitors cut out the tongue of a young woman who was accused of being a heretic.  This was frightening to me as an eight year old child, especially when some of these same dudes from the movie showed up at my church to perform a service.

You see, I got the giggles a lot as a child, matter of fact, I still get the giggles a lot - it's a blonde thing.  And sometimes, that said giggling occurred in church.  I never knew when something, which practically anything, would make me giggle.

Military Wife & Husband (Guest Post): TV Shows He/She Watches I Just Can't With!

Because of my husband's long, unpredictable work hours, we do not get to see each other that often.  Therefore, I was really excited when my husband agreed to be a guest poster on my blog.  One of my husband and my favorite parts of any day is what we call "Family Time" which usually occurs right in front of our television watching either a movie or a show, with Coke Icees and, of course, our beloved pugs.

While we both love many of the same shows, we do not always see eye to eye.  Thus, I present to you TV Shows He/She Watches I Just Can't With!

My Picks & Commentary:

Blue Bloods
I am fairly certain this show centers around a family of cops, with Tom Selleck's character being the patriarchal figure.  To me, this show is Tom Selleck weekly looking like a fossilized ancient relic.  By the way, how old is Selleck now?  100?  Is he vampire?  Or maybe he's actually Bernie from Weekend at Bernie's and another cast member is making him move?

One may never know.

Anyhoo, I am not suggesting this show does not have a following.  It is actually quite popular.
And I am pretty sure that popularity comes in between time for meds and canasta down at Golden Acres Who Farted Retirement Home.

Pug Posts: Housekeeping Is #PrettyKewl

Hi everyone.  I'm #MaddiethePug, quite possibly the coolest pug you will ever meet.

I'm really popular and people are jealous of me because, well, I'm a cute pug with lots of personality and star power.

You know how that goes.  But enough about me (for now, of course, duh).

Was It Tiredness That Made You Sleep?

If you have not been following my posts, my tooth has been the cause of some serious shenanigans in my life.  And by shenanigans, I mean, annoying as all h-e double hockey sticks.  I would imagine if you have been following my blog, you are pretty irritated that it seems to be ALL I talk about; you know, the massive pain in my mouth.

You can read all my tooth problems again here: He Has A Talent For Causing Things Pain!

Point being: this tooth is causing me more drama than Thanos getting control of all six infinity stones will.

Which for you non-Marvel comic fans means a crap TON of drama.

Seeds of Yesterday, There Be Thorns In Your Ass: Lifetime Strikes Back!

It was not too long ago I discussed Lifetime Movie Network's recent delve into the movies that make you go "ewwwww" (see, Lifetime Movie Network Explores the Yuck Factor).  Lifetime just could not leave well, Easter, alone and brought us the 3rd installment in V.C. Andrews adaptations of book to movie with If There Be Thorns.

Since I was a child of the 80s, I knew all about the V.C. Andrews books; so, of course, I was stoked to watch Lifetime's Flowers in the Attic and Petals on the Wind.  I mean, I practically had to BEG my mother to let me read them.  Thus, when I heard there would be an If There Be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday, I was totally like:
