Let The Sunshine In, Or The Sunshine Blogger Award

This blog has been a blessing for me in many ways. For one, it keeps me entertained, and two, it keeps Military Husband from being like:

When he returns home from work. Because friends, I love to talk and the blog gives me someone to talk at. Notice I wrote "talk at" and not "talk to" and yes, I know I ended the sentence with a preposition. I can do that from time to time if I wanna.

#word

Third, I have made some pretty sweet friends blogging. Like my blogging bestie Julie at Jewels Wandering. She and I have gotten pretty tight, and being so, she has nominated me for another award.

Here are the rules:

1) Thank the person who nominated you. Julie, you are the rock salt to my margarita, the lime to my Diet Coke and Bacardi, the cheese whiz to my nachos, well, you get the idea. 2) Share 11 rando facts about yourself by answering the nominating blogger's questions. 3) Nominate 11 more bloggers and ask them 11 rando questions.

1) If you could be one flavor of ice cream, which one would you be and why?

Um, yeah. This question is pretty kinky. As in, R Kelly kind of kink.

Stick it in the ignition. #toottoot #beepbeep

Anyhoo, I am not a huge fan of ice cream, but I do go through phases when I want yogurt. And when I want yogurt, I always get white chocolate mousse with white chocolate chips and extra Jimmys.

So, I would be a white chocolate flavor with lots of Jimmys. The Jimmys make me a fruitful rainbow of fun. You know Jimmys, right?

Devil's little sprinklings.

2) What are your nicknames? What do you prefer to be called?

My parents have always called me Boo.

I know, I KNOW. But really, tho.

3) What is the strangest thing you believed as a child?

I grew up in a haunted house. All my life, I saw and heard ghosts. Is it strange? A little. Was it real? Most definitely. Thankfully, the ghosts were never malevolent until I was much older. I think this is why Insidious is one of the few horror movies that actually scares me.

4) What does high maintenance mean to you?

Is only preferring YSL lipsticks high maintenance?
Is never carrying the same handbag for more than six months high maintenance?
Is insisting there only be Ketel One vodka in your martinis high maintenance?
Is always having to carry your weave, two curling irons and a flat iron when you travel high maintenance?

Military Husband spoiling me does not help the matter AT ALL.

5) What is your one constant daydream?

I CONSTANTLY daydream about Hawaii. This was our cottage at Turtle Bay Resort. It was a dream come true for me to travel to the North Shore and experience the resort. I cannot wait to return in the near future.

6) What are the top three qualities that draw you to someone new?

I love meeting new people, especially YOU. Here are some qualities that might make you my new bestie.

1) A GREAT sense of humor. Especially a sarcastic sense of humor.

And, I like people who speak their minds.

2) I like those who are bougie, but can also be ratchet when necessary.

Even Military Husband is this way - he loves the finer things, but he is not afraid to talk about knocking someone the f**k out. He IS from Jersey, remember?

and......*drumroll please*

3) I like everyone anyone who thinks vodka is one of the food groups.

7) Do you remember your dreams? Did you dream last night?

Yes, for the most part.

And last night, I was dreaming about this:

I am always dreaming about sushi. I crave it at least twice a week and I could pretty much eat it every single day. Unfortunately, Military Husband is deathly allergic to seafood.

I need a sushi partner in crime. Be mine?

8) What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?

Let's be honest.

9) What are your best characteristics?

I would say my best characteristic is that I am extremely lucky because I have the best husband in the world. Seriously, I really do, and I know it can be a little overkill to read that ALL the time on my blog. But, I am a lucky girl and I like to sing it to the mountain tops.

10) Would you break the law to save someone?

Disclaimer: In the case of any future law enforcement reading this blog, these statements were made for entertainment purposes only. Oh, and if somehow I turn up dead in my home state, direct your attention to the "ladies" in my town who favor the characters the Wayans Bros. portrayed in White Chicks. You will know them by their costumes and the stench of Britney Spears perfume mixed with Jager bombs. #yourewelcome #caseclosed

I would do quite a bit to save Military Husband. But I suppose it really depends on the law. Murdering someone to save Military Husband seems a little harsh, eh? "Causing someone to have an accident" to save Military Husband maybe? Just kidding.

Hey, I watch a LOT of Lifetime. And I have seen my fair share of programs on the ID Network. You can learn quite a bit if you take a few notes.

11) Any new and exciting things you would like to share?

Yes, but I will save that for when we know more! Until then, just know:

Now, I am going to be a complete rebel this time and I am not going to nominate anyone specifically. Instead, I nominate ALL OF YOU for the Sunshine Blogger Award! Because you are ALL my sunshines. #Lame, I know, but hey, more like my tequila sunshines. Or the little lemon swirl hanging off my lemon drop martini - it is yellow, like a sun, therefore, sunshine. #Boom

Here are the questions:

1) What is your favorite fast food meal?
2) What is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?
3) If you could have a free round trip ticket to anywhere, where would you go?
4) What was your worst first date and why?
5) What is your weirdest habit?
6) If you knew you were losing your hearing tomorrow, what would you spend today listening to?
7)  What three famous people would you like to invite to a private dinner party?
8) What was the last movie that made you cry?
9) Who would play your husband/wife or significant other in the movie of his/her life?
10) What is your greatest strength?
11) Quick, name three things you never leave your home without.

Let me know if you did the tag and I will link your blog in my post!

  1. You make me laugh - so much so that I may or may not have woken up my husband, who gave me a very dirty look before going back to sleep. Oops! So many great things here - Hawaii, vodka, exciting surprises. But sushi? Just no. I don't even like cooked fish. Clarification on question #9 - would I get to meet this person during filming? Because that will definitely have bearing on my answer :)!

On another note, I'm always disturbed by how many of the real housewives I recognize in your gifs. I think I'm supposed to be ashamed of having watched all of the seasons of all of those shows!

Me and vodka don't mix. I cry and laugh at the same time when I drink it. My adult beverage of choice is Jagermeister, with a little bit of green Monster.
