No Time For Losers, Cause We Are The Sisters of THE WORLD!

I said it once in The Blog Quote Challenge, Or That Time You Learned Some of My Favorite Quotes and now, I will say it again. When you guys tag me in a challenge or give me an award, I feel like the belle of the freaking blogger ball. I feel like Andie when Blane showed up at the prom, even tho, Blane was kind of douche - would you not totally rather go for Duckie? HELLO, he lip synced Otis for Andie. I feel like Sabrina the Teenage Witch when she left the alter and ran and jumped on Harvey's motorcycle while No Doubt's "Running" was playing in the background. I feel like Annie when she met Sam on the top of the Empire State Building and they were both all "It's you" "It's you."

Eh, I get a little warm and fuzzy.

But truly, I digress.

My girl Katie at The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life nominated me for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.

Thank you, Katie! Make sure you check out Katie's blog The Mishaps and Mayhem of a Solitary Life and tell her I sent you. Katie is still a new blogger, and she is a total sweetheart that deserves more followers. #Sooooooo.......

And follow my friend Katie? I promise to continue to flush those Lifetime Movie Network Turds if you comply. Remember, every flush of poo, I do it for you.

Oooh...oooh.

The rules of the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award are to 1) thank the person who nominated you; Katie, you are one bad mamma jamma; 2) answer 10 getting to know me questions asked by the person who nominated you; 3) nominate 10 more bloggers by asking your own 10 questions.

#word

Let's get this party started.

Katie's 10 Questions for ME

1) How has blogging enhanced your life?

Blogging has given me something to do with my spare time while I am on the infamous "work sabbatical." You know, instead of eating bonbons all day and binge watching cheesy shows. Speaking of bonbons, Military Husband and I recently had a conversation that went like this:

Me: Some people really do sit around eating bonbons all day.

Military Husband: I really don't think there is such thing as bonbons. More like French Onion Dip and Pringles.

Me:

Bonbons, beeyatch.

No really, I love that I make you guys laugh. Making other people laugh gives purpose to my life. And when I read comments like, "this made me LOL" or "I love this post" or "I feel like we could be friends in real" or "I love your blog and you," it really means so much to me. It tickles my toenails that you feel connected to me through my blog. You guys are the shizznit.

Do you guys still say that? Military Husband quickly informed me no one says "bomb" anymore. Really? Not "shizznit" either?

But, but, BUT, I thought I was cool.

Le Sigh.

2) What's your favorite guilty pleasure television show?

I know you are all expecting a #Marvel show, or something of the particular #nerdgirl #comiccon frenzy side, but, well, *hides head in shame in her glass of wine*:

THIS happened.

Who I am? Really? The Vampire Diaries? Lifetime is fucking with my head, I tell you people. But it is a pretty tolerable show. It is NOTHING like those Twi-douches. Damon and Stefan are actually interesting vampires, and no one is sitting around brooding or sparkling (all the Twi-Tools sparkling would eat my soul; I do not do "sparkle"). The action moves quickly and there are a lot of surprises and interesting cameos. Never thought I would say this, but this show is worth giving a chance.

3) What are you reading now?

Nothing, and that makes me all #sadface. I need suggestions friends! One of my bestie blogging friends, Julie at Jewels Wandering, had me read Luckiest Girl Alive: A Novel. It was phenomenal and you all need to read this NOW.

4) What are three things you can't live without?

My pugs and my husband.

5) Morning person or night owl?

I love the night life, I got to boogie, on the disco round!

I LOVE the night. Pretty sure in my past life I was a vampire.

But let's just keep that between us.

Or I was a disco queen.

Shaking my whammy fanny funky song, funky song all night long.

6) What season do you think it is easiest to dress for?

When you are an eating bonbons, no working, lazy bum like me, this is your typical apparel for all seasons:

Easy peasy, Marvel squeezy.

7) Have you ever done anything that's taken you out of your comfort zone? If so, what?

My final monologue in my college theatre class was a monologue spoken by Puck, from A Midsummer Night's Dream:

Thou speak'st aright;
I am that merry wanderer of the night.
I jest to Oberon and make him smile
When I a fat and bean-fed horse beguile,
Neighing in likeness of a filly foal:
And sometime lurk I in a gossip's bowl,
In very likeness of a roasted crab,
And when she drinks, against her lips I bob
And on her wither'd dewlap pour the ale.
The wisest aunt, telling the saddest tale,
Sometime for three-foot stool mistaketh me;
Then slip I from her bum, down topples she,
And 'tailor' cries, and falls into a cough;
And then the whole quire hold their hips and laugh,
And waxen in their mirth and sneeze and swear
A merrier hour was never wasted there.
But, room, fairy! here comes Oberon.

Trust me, Puck is the most interesting person to play in Midsummer Night's Dream. Anyhoo, the reason it was "out of my comfort zone" is I played him as a combination of:

Steve Urkel

and

Stuart from MadTV

The entire performance included me throwing in a loud fart at "bean-fed horse beguile," which had the class in tee-tee in their pants laughter. It was AWESOME. If you ever get the chance, take some acting classes. You will quickly learn to leave your comfort zone.

8) Where is your favorite place to visit?

The North Shore, Oahu

9) What genre of music is your favorite and why?

I wrote an entire blog post on this topic with my husband called Military Wife & Husband (Guest) Post: Our To 5 Favorite Albums of All Time!. I would say my favorite genre is trip hop/chill out music, which includes artists such as Massive Attack, Zero 7, Morcheeba, Sneaker Pimps, Hooverphonic and Portishead.

10) What would your perfect day entail?

My wedding day was definitely the perfect day.

And, Military Husband and I also had a perfect day in Hawaii. We rented a Jeep and visited Haleiwa and Waimea Valley. If you ever visit Hawaii, I highly suggest you visit both places. I will include just a few pictures from the day.

Our awesome Jeep:

If you travel to Hawaii, you should totally rent a car. You will want to explore the island!

Lunch at Pizza Bob's:

Guys, this food was so delicious, and it did not make you feel gah-ross and bloated like most burgers and fries. And yes, we had beer with lunch. #daydrinkingforthewin

The flowers, landscape and nature were so beautiful at Waimea Valley:

Sunset at Turtle Bay Resort after our day of fun:

I am in love with Hawaii sunsets. We so want to return to Hawaii in the near future!

Outside our dinner restaurant in Haleiwa, Haleiwa Joe's:

Sorry I could not show you a picture from inside the restaurant; Military Husband and I were mean mugging in that pic. However, this restaurant was SO much fun. I ate sushi for an appetizer, crunchy coconut shrimp for dinner and drank some sort of lava rock martini. All of it was delicious. I highly recommend Haleiwa Joe's if you ever visit the island.

This was a perfect day to my husband and I. The only thing missing was our pugs.

Now, I am supposed to nominate 10 more people to take the challenge. I nominate:

Amanda at A Brownie World
Holly at Cat Hair & Glitter
Terra Heck at Heck of a Bunch
Kristen at Your Beauty Fix
Dara at Not In Jersey

And to those of you nominated, you have to answer my questions OR ELSE.

Just kidding, but that would be funny. #warpedsenseofhumor #hahahaornah

Here are my 10 questions for you all to answer:

1) What is one trend, beauty or fashion, you cannot stand?
2) If you could remove all the fat and calories from any food, what would it be and why?
3) What famous person makes you want to puke?
4) What song do you sing (loudly) and dance (obnoxiously) to when you are by yourself?
5) What was your favorite Halloween costume you ever wore?
6) If you could be invisible for a day, what would you do?
7) What is the stupidest excuse you've ever used to get out doing something? And did it work?
8) What is something that truly grosses you out?
9) Have you ever re-gifted a gift? What was it and who did you give it to?
10) If you could go back in time and tell your teenage self anything, what would it be and why?

Thanks again to my girl Katie for nominating me!

As always, I am just your crazy little blonde,

  5. Thanks for the nomination! Renting a jeep and exploring Hawaii is actually on our bucket list! Some of our military friends are stationed there, so we've talking about visiting them but breaking away for a few days and running around with our own car. I love your comment about all seasons. 1. Yes to Hawaii. You must....there are actually some decent priced vacation rentals on the North Shore if you plan ahead. And you can eat on the island for way less than if you stay at a resort. Lots of food trucks! :)
And yessssss to Vampire Diaries. I think you would really like the show.
