5 Possible Reasons Why I Blog Anonymously

I have been blogging almost a year now, and I suppose it is about time I addressed the elephant in the blog posts - the reasons why I am anonymous. Because I get the feeling that some of you read my blog and wonder:

And I get that "feeling" because some of you just straight up ask me. I mean, I get it; I totally understand, I would be curious too. But every single time I am asked who I am, I think to myself:

As an aside, I made this Ultron animated gif and, no shit, I wanted an excuse to use it in a post. So, here we are. #BOOM #imadeafunnyaroundaMarvelgif #dedicatedtotheMCU

But truly, I digress.

Anyhoo, I know you all have questions. Therefore, in today's post, I am going to give you a few potential reasons why I blog anonymously. Perhaps this will shed a little light on why all the mystique and secrecy surrounds my blog. Or perhaps not. No, really, in all seriousness!

Well, I mean, as serious as you all know me to be.

5 Possible Reasons Why I Blog Anonymously

1) My Husband is an Avenger

It would explain all the #Marvel love.

Plus, I call him "Military Husband." I never said EXACTLY how he served to protect the country. If you learned anything from Age of Ultron, it was that some of the Avengers actually have normal home lives. Oh, and if you think the Avengers are not real, you probably also do not think Green Goblin, Mr. Hyde, Red Skull, Loki and Ultron are real either. Or maybe you have never heard of any of them.

Right. That would be because the Avengers defeated them. Without any thanks from a single one of you.

Now, would you not want to keep this sort of thing on the down low?

2) I Am Currently Incarcerated

I said I worked in the legal field. Believe you me, lawyers end up in prison. Well, let's put it this way, they should. IF ONLY being a douchebag was a crime.

You might think that is ridiculous to think I could be in the slammer, but as someone who has worked in the legal field, let me be the first to tell you inmates have a lot more access to the internet than you think. A scary amount, actually.

Try perusing some of these sites at your leisure:

Meet An Inmate
Women Behind Bars
Inmate Passions

Between workouts, forming prison gangs and meeting women and men online for visits of the conjugal nature, it kind of makes you wonder how they are exactly being punished.

I suppose I really would not care to tell you who I was if I were in the Big House, but then again, it would all depend on the type of crime I committed.  Right about now, you are thinking about stuff you have told me or pictures you have posted on your blog of your family and are like:

Right.

3) I Am One Scary Looking Beeyatch

No joke, I totally look like this:

Or this:

Or worse, this:

I do not want to cause you a fright. Especially if you just put on your clean underwear.

4) I AM #MaddiethePug

I do know why you keep asking who I am. I am #MaddietheFREAKINGPug. What, you think I do not write at the computer? Please. I do a lot of things around here. Pugs are awesome. We are smart, funny, adorable and we think you humans are #prettykewl, so why not create a funny blog to entertain you?

Sure, for the most part, I am doing a lot of this:

But I totally think it should be MY blog.

And finally, *drum roll please*.......

5) It Is Fun

I love the mystery behind blogging anonymously. It truly is a lot of fun. And it makes me laugh. I love laughing with myself and at myself.

I know, I know. But the "good" kind of crazy, not the ID Network kind, right? And speaking of crazy, now that I have told you all these potential reasons why I blog anonymously, well:

Just kidding.

For now, of course.

If you have any questions for me, you can leave a comment! Also, let me know why you decided to share your life with complete strangers in the comments blow!

Blogging on the regular, I am still simply known as,

  3. Do you remember MySpace? The blogging community over there was HUGE and there were so many people who blogged anonymously. It actually made things more interesting because people shared details of their lives they would never, ever share otherwise. However, it also opened it up to some crazy behavior. People would crash other people's comments section with obscene pictures or write hate blogs about other bloggers. It was kind of stupid actually. I had one of the most popular blogs on the site for a while there and there was a guy who wrote a parody blog every day based on the blog I'd written the day before. It was unnerving--but also it had a huge element of, "Why don't some of these people get a LIFE?" True story--I'm the ONLY person from those days who has a publishing deal and still writes. Most of the people over there had no interest in writing...blogging just gave them a platform to act like a fool.

Plus with these ISIS folks running around, it's scary. My husband isn't too keen on having everyone know where we are all the time or seeing us, our home etc.

  5. Loki is real? Damn, I'll have to find a big hammer. I never knew there were so many perks to being in the slammer. Blog as a dog or a cat and it is easy to hide away.

What scares me are the lurkers.....the mean people...they can get weird. I don't want people ever bothering my husband at his job. Because they don't like me or something I say. I think most of you get it that I joke around a lot, but some people? They just don't and take it the wrong way. Scary.

  20. Gotta admit, it does add a sense of mystery! Either way, I'll keep on readin'.
I'm not so sure I can keep reading your Lifetime posts though.
No joke, yesterday I seriously dreamed about watching a Lifetime movie and it was one that you had recapped. After the movie dream was over, I woke up in a state of confusion whether I had just read one of your posts, really watched a Lifetime movie, or was just plain crazy.

You know I´m from Sweden so sometimes you write words that I don´t understand so I use Google translate and most of the times it´s pretty correct.
But today I got a translation that I really want to share with you, just for fun. ;) You wrote: "douchebag" and I had a sense of what it meant but wasn´t sure so I asked Google translate and this is what I got: "a small syringe for douching the vagina, especially as a contraceptive measure." However, I´m pretty sure you meant something else, right? ;)

    You Rock!!!

  28. I started blogging as my pug Sugar and Ragus is Sugar spelled backward. But it morphed into me speaking and not Sugar over time. It became more of a way to save the memories of what I was doing than just about the pugs. Then became less about the pugs over time. I really should have made a different blog but didn't want to. I do need to do a new header picture and revise the whole page someday! You are smart for keeping it anonymous. I like having the blog open for people to read, but I don't really tell anyone about it that I know. A few friends and a little bit of family. I do love meeting blogging friends in real life. That has been a real plus. It is amazing to find nice people this way that you would have never connected with otherwise.
